Hundreds of participants enjoyed the experience with Propulsion Rafting on the Red River.

Yes. Class 3 to 4 rapids offer an exhilarating experience with great waves, but the activity is still suitable for beginners in good physical condition. Before setting off, you’ll receive whitewater training, and your guide will accompany you throughout the trip.
It’s preferable, but not essential. Being comfortable in the water is helpful, but if you share your concerns with your guide, they’ll be able to tailor the trip to your abilities. The important thing is to talk to your guide about it.
Rafting is suitable for a wide range of ages. Children as young as 6 can be introduced to the fun of whitewater, though it’s not possible to do so at such a young age during every part of the season. In the spring, from May through late June, we navigate high water, so participants must be 12 years or older. When the water level drops, certain routes become navigable for younger children.
Mainly to comply with the safety standards for the life jackets we use. The 150-kilogram weight limit is also a concern for the guide, who has to pull someone back into the boat if they fall overboard. We’re strong, but we have our limits too!
Propulsion has been in business since 1982, making it one of the oldest rafting companies in Quebec. Over the years, Propulsion has distinguished itself through personalized service and a stable, highly professional team of guides. With a limited capacity of just a few guests at a time, we ensure a personal experience that is a far cry from the commercial approach others might prioritize. With fewer boats on the water at any given time, the experience flows more smoothly; the wait at the mandatory safety checkpoint is shorter since boats must pass through one at a time; and upon returning to base camp, you’ll feel like part of a family rather than lost in a crowd. We could go on and on about the benefits we offer, but basically, just know that if we’ve been on the Rouge for over 40 years, it’s for a reason.
Our base camp is ideally located on the banks of the Rouge River, across from the starting point of the Sept Soeurs section—the most popular kayaking route in Quebec. Since we own the launch site, we invite you to relax on the small beach overlooking the first rapid. In addition to this idyllic setting, we have a reception chalet with a central fireplace, a bar, a gazebo with a pizzeria and outdoor fireplace, a swimming pool, a hot tub, a volleyball court, a shuffleboard court, a large terrace, hammocks, Adirondack chairs, numerous picnic tables, and a large grassy area for relaxing or playing Frisbee. And all of this is available for a luxurious post-rafting experience
