Sportyaking is a sport that combines elements of rafting and kayaking. Sportyaks are inflatable boats designed to accommodate one or two people and are built for whitewater rafting. For rafting enthusiasts looking for a new challenge, sportyaking offers an exhilarating excursion down the Red River.

With the professional guidance of a kayak guide, you’ll learn to handle your own kayak on Quebec’s most beautiful whitewater route. Rafting experience is required.
1. Arrival at Base
When you arrive at the base, our team will meet you in the parking lot to direct you to the reception desk, where we’ll confirm your reservation and give you some initial instructions on how the activity will proceed

2. Preparation & Equipment
Now is the time to change into appropriate clothing for today’s weather conditions. Whether you’re wearing just a wetsuit or one of our thermal suits, our guides will be on hand to advise you on the right gear to ensure you have the best possible experience. We’ll provide you with safety equipment and explain how to adjust it properly.

3. Safety
We’ll gather to go over the basic instructions, form groups, and introduce you to the guide, who will finish going over the safety instructions regarding the kayak.

4. The Adventure Begins
The Sportyaks are setting out to tackle the rapids! Throughout the trip, your kayak guide will point out the safest routes to follow and give you tips on how to handle your boat. Let the fun begin!

5. End of Day
After more than two hours of wading through the water, it’s time to head back to base camp on one of our buses! Once there, you can enjoy the facilities (swimming pool, volleyball court, spa, restrooms with showers) and sip a beer on the terrace! You can have lunch and/or dinner on site—just let us know when you arrive.

Yes. Class 3 to 4 rapids offer a thrilling experience with great waves, but the activity is still suitable for beginners in good physical condition. Before setting off, you’ll receive whitewater training, and your guide will accompany you throughout the trip.
